Resolute 01.01.99-31.01.99 Private View: 31 December 1998, from 6.00 pm How shall we begin? a stock-taking predictive pre-emptive sentimental foolish lacking ambitious proscriptive pedantic optimistic resolute Resolute is the inaugural show at Platform, a project space co-ordinated by Sheila Lawson. We look ahead with eyes to the past. New Years Eve is one of the few moments which allow us to collectively acknowledge this condition. A moment when hindsight is given credence and regret is transformed into optimism... until the next day. Artists, Writers, Curators and other contributors have been invited to submit their New Years Resolutions (on A4) to Platform. Contributors include; Fiona Banner, Simon Bill, Simon English, Graham Gussin, Alison Gill, Matthew Higgs, Gareth Jones, Sarah Staton, David Shrigley, Fergal Stapleton, Andrew Wilson & Elizabeth Wright. Resolute is a beginning at an end. Take a moment to write it down, commit pen to paper. Pen that list of things you never do -- somewhere between a summary and a plan;
