Eli Langer

02.04.99 - 30.04.99

Private View 2 April 1999, 7.00 - 9pm

Works by Eli Langer at one time attracted the attention of the police. As a result, his paintings and drawings did jail time; but eventually they were set free. He now makes art less susceptible to interpretation, if not entirely useless to explanation itself. Now, sincerity and an excess of feeling are the most shocking things about them. As the artist himself has said, "My works are like orphans" ; i.e., they need a home.

Curated by Rosemary Heather.

The gallery is open Thursday to Sunday 12 - 6pm or by appointment.
