On Painting:

“You could be almost anywhere...it's possible to have no anchor, no horizon, no point of reference... and getting to a place, the method, is exploded. Conventional means may be used but one can reach the same destination through an almost limitless number of pathways with a balance of abandon and control.

The accumulation and dissolution of patterns suggest something that resembles...but resemblance is transient. Navigating from no fixed address, the forming surface shifts in it's becoming.”

Nicole Collins Michael Davidson

Through layering and accretion the materiality of the work in "Paintings Painted" emphasises the process and stuff of paint(ing). The dialogue between figuration and abstraction takes on a strong, physical presence in the dense, fine grained mass of these works.

Canadian artists Nicole Collins and Michael Davidson have exhibited widely in Canada and the US. This is the first exhibition of their work in the UK.

For further information please contact Sheila Lawson on 0207 375 2973.
